F/262 – Festival Internacional de Fotografia is now a member of the Gallery Climate Coalition (GCC), a global network leading the cultural sector’s response to the climate crisis.
We join an international community that includes institutions such as Tate, Serpentine Galleries, Whitechapel Gallery, as well as organisations shaping sustainable practice like Julie’s Bicycle and Delfina Foundation. In Portugal, this commitment is reflected by institutions such as the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian and the Serralves Foundation.
This is a natural step for the festival. Sustainability is already part of how we work, not an add-on, but embedded in our structure and programme.
Through initiatives like the F/262 Circular Culture Lab, developed within the Pacto para a Economia Circular , we are actively rethinking how a photography festival can operate responsibly, from production and materials to education and community engagement.
Projects like Cuidar as Margens extend this approach into the territory itself, connecting photography, environmental awareness and local participation.
Being part of the Gallery Climate Coalition strengthens this path, giving us access to shared tools, knowledge and a global network committed to building a more sustainable cultural future.
