PHOTOGRAPHY AS A SOCIAL PRACTICE

We Use Photography to Connect, Educate and Act

ASSOCIAÇÃO F/SOS – Fotografia, Solidariedade e Obras Sociais is a non-profit cultural association that uses photography as a tool for artistic expression, education, social engagement and sustainability. We develop projects that connect visual culture with people, territory and contemporary challenges. Through exhibitions, festivals, training programmes and community-based initiatives, we promote inclusion, critical thinking and responsible cultural practices, working with artists, institutions and communities in Portugal and internationally.

OUR MISSION

Photography for social and environmental awareness.

F/SOS believes that images matter.

Photography shapes how we see the world, how we understand one another and how we take responsibility for our shared future. Our mission is to expand photography beyond aesthetics, creating spaces where images support dialogue, participation and meaningful social impact. We work collaboratively with artists, educators, NGOs, schools and cultural institutions to develop projects that give visibility to diverse voices, strengthen communities and respond to social and environmental challenges with care and intention.
