On April 19, F/SOS – Photography, Solidarity and Social Works will organise “Cuidar as Margens”, an environmental clean-up and awareness initiative at Óbidos Lagoon, as part of the programme of the F/262 – International Photography Festival.
This initiative is part of the festival’s sustainability programme and aims to mobilise the community around the preservation of one of the region’s most important natural ecosystems.
F/SOS is also proud to be a local organiser of the Plogging Challenge Portugal 2026, a national initiative that combines physical activity with environmental action, promoting both well-being and ecological awareness [3].
During the morning, volunteers, local organisations and community members will come together in a collective action dedicated to protecting the lagoon.
Alongside its environmental focus, the activity also encourages observation and documentation of the landscape, inviting participants to reflect on the relationship between photography, nature and community — one of the central themes of the festival.
Participation is free of charge but requires prior registration.
The initiative is promoted by F/SOS – Photography, Solidarity and Social Works, in collaboration with the Municipality of Caldas da Rainha, Parish Council of Foz do Arelho, Parish Council of Nadadouro, Lindomar, Ágora – Environmental Association, Associação Pato – Defence of Paul de Tornada, AALO – Association Acting for Óbidos Lagoon, and Brigada do Mar.
