he F/SOS – Fotografia, Solidariedade e Obras Sociais is home to the Clube para a UNESCO F/SOS – Fotografia, Património e Cidadania, approved by the Comissão Nacional da UNESCO as part of the Portuguese Network of UNESCO Associations and Clubs.
The Club promotes photography as a tool for education, cultural heritage, visual literacy, social inclusion, citizenship, sustainability and intercultural dialogue, developing educational, cultural and community-based projects in line with UNESCO’s values and objectives.
The Club is based at the Casa-Museu Jaime Umbelino, Centro de Experimentação da Fotografia (CEF), in Foz do Arelho, and works through exhibitions, educational programmes, training, conferences, community projects and national and international cooperation.

The F/SOS – Fotografia, Solidariedade e Obras Sociais is a partner of the National Network for Intangible Cultural Heritage (RNPCI), promoted by Património Cultural, I.P.
The RNPCI is an informal and open network bringing together organisations, associations, communities, groups, individuals and specialists involved in the safeguarding and promotion of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
F/SOS is part of the Network as an association working in the field of safeguarding and promoting Intangible Cultural Heritage, through projects that bring together photography, memory, heritage, documentation, education and community participation.
Our participation in the RNPCI allows us to share experiences, knowledge and good practices, while contributing to collaborative projects and initiatives in the field of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
For F/SOS, photography is also a tool for documentation, memory and transmission, helping to connect different generations and communities with their heritage and their stories.

EFFE Label 2026–2027
F262 is part of the European festival community recognised through the EFFE Label, Europe’s quality label for remarkable arts festivals.
The EFFE Label recognises festivals that demonstrate engagement with the arts, their local communities and international cultural exchange. The label is awarded following an evaluation by international experts, with labelled festivals meeting at least 7 of 10 quality standards covering artistic programming, artistic development, emerging artists, local community engagement, access to culture, sustainability, intercultural exchange, inclusion, innovation and audience engagement.
For F262, this recognition reflects the festival’s commitment to artistic excellence, community participation, accessibility, sustainability, education and international cultural exchange.

CCDR Lisboa e Vale do Tejo, I.P. LVT +Cultura
The F/SOS – Fotografia, Solidariedade e Obras Sociais participates in the LVT +Cultura Programme, an annual funding programme promoted by the Comissão de Coordenação e Desenvolvimento Regional de Lisboa e Vale do Tejo, I.P. (CCDR LVT) to support cultural, artistic, recreational and heritage projects developed by non-professionalised organisations across the Lisbon and Tagus Valley region.
Through the 2026 edition of LVT +Cultura, our project was assessed with a score of 17.81 points and has been proposed for financial support of €5,000.
The programme supports initiatives that contribute to cultural development, local and regional engagement, community participation, heritage, accessibility, sustainability and collaboration between cultural organisations and territories.
